My entry for the first MCM Art Group competition, The theme being 'New Beginnings'.
Really had no idea what i was going to do for this theme, all i knew was that i wanted to contain the illustration in and around a circle... I started with things focused on myself as a sort of 'self-progression' thing, but after a couple of sketches i was getting annoyed at my own self indulgent ego stroking and so rubbed all that out and decided to go with a Phoenix for the central imagery. Also used bits and bobs of other 'new beginning' imagery, but I was essentially riffing on this piece... was kind of nice to just shut my brain off and draw whatever came to mind. The end result is a mish-mash of iconography based around Resurrection and new beginnings.

I have well over 700 art pieces I'm catching up on so it's been a large case of just skimming through them, but I must say this really caught my eye as I went through. Nice work, very vibrant and well designed.
